All About Lynlee - 9 Months Old
Nicknames: Lynnie, Lynnie Lu, Lynners, Bug, Lynnie Bug, Lyn
Weight & Height: My teeny tiny baby isn't turning out to be so tiny after all!!! She weighed 18 lbs 11 oz (58%) and was 28 3/4 inches long (86%) at her 9 month appointment! Tall and lean like her big sisters!
Hair: Fuzz head! We did a treatment for cradle cap a few months ago and her hair has been coming in fast ever since. She has light brown fuzzy hair that sticks up everywhere. I'm guessing her hair will be the same color as Maya's.
Favorite foods: She is the sweetest eater. She picks up one little thing at a time and nicely places it in her mouth :) She has been a few weeks behind Cambell when it comes to eating... took her longer to figure out how to eat from a spoon, longer to pick up food with her fingers, etc. But she's doing just fine now! She really is not very picky. She loves any fruit or veggie, Cheerios, Puffs, whole grain pasta, Kashi waffles, bananas, avocado. We are already suspicious that she is allergic to dairy like Maya was. Her tummy gets upset when she eats yogurt or cheese.
Favorite Drink: She only gets formula and water and drinks from both a bottle and a sippy cup.
Favorite toys: Leap Frog table, pink car, tearing Kleenex or napkins into tiny shreds
Favorite books: Book time with the twins is hard. I have them both in my lap and they fight over the book! Who gets to turn the page? Who gets to push the buttons? I want your pacifier instead of mine so I'll rip it out of your mouth! Yep... that's pretty much what reading time looks like for the twins right now :)
Favorite stuffed animal: None yet.
Favorite Person: Mommy and Maryn
Watching her big sister's soccer game
Bedtime: Some time between 6:30 and 7:00 depending on how well and how late she napped that day.
Wake-up time: She's usually up between 6:00 - 6:30. She does typically still get up around 3:30/4:00 for about 10 minutes to eat and goes right back to sleep.
Naps: She still takes 2 naps a day. She goes down for her morning nap around 9:00 and sleeps for approximately 1 1/2 hours. Then takes her afternoon nap at 1:00 and sleeps anywhere from 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 hours. She reminds me of Makenna in that she doesn't need near as much sleep. Cambell gets tired and cranky much faster than Lynlee.
What she's saying: Lynnie has been talking for awhile now. She says "mama" "dada" and "baba". She actually knows what she's saying too! She is much chattier compared to Cambell.
Lynnie was the first one to pull up on the table!
Latest Accomplishment: Oh my goodness, there's so much at this age! Drinking from a sippy cup (7 months), eating real people food (8 months), army crawling ( 8 months), pulling herself to a standing position (9 months), getting to a sitting position on her own, waving, 1st tooth (7 months), walking along furniture.
Likes: baths, chewing/sucking on things, walks in the stroller, swinging outside, pacifiers, standing up in her crib
Dislikes: losing her pacifier during bedtime, when she pulls herself up in her crib and can't get back down, getting her diaper changed (she is super squirmy)
What gets said about Lynlee most often: That she looks just like Makenna!!! And that she has really big eyes.
Best known for: Being an easy baby.
Health: She is a healthy little peanut! No health issues to report! Just a minor cold over the winter.
Interesting Tidbits: She has two little teeth on the bottom.
Someone got into the Easter goodies....
All About Cambell - 9 Months Old
Nicknames: Cammers, Cammer Jammer, Cam
Weight & Height: For the little boy we lovingly call "Tank", he sure isn't that "tank"-like anymore. He weighed 21 lbs 12 oz (81%) and was 29 1/4 inches long (82%). Dr. said he is perfect weight for his height. I'm used to long lean babies though... he is a solid little boy. His legs are pure muscle!
Hair: I love his hair! He has blonde hair that sweeps to the side like a big boy! He is my blondest baby yet! Definitely a little Josh :)
Favorite foods: He is the opposite of his sister when it comes to eating... she is nice and dainty and uses one hand, while Cambell uses both hands simultaneously to shove anything and everything into his mouth as fast as possible :) It is quite a sight to see! I don't know that there is anything he doesn't like. The first few times he had green beans and peas they weren't his favorite (made faces like he wasn't enjoying it) but now eats them just fine. Favorites would be avocado, ground beef, black beans, melon, strawberries, Kashi waffles, mommy's homemade mango salsa, cheerios, yogurt, cheese, puffs, bread (Daddy gave him a dinner roll the other night and he loved it!), and for the first time tonight - pizza.
Love this picture! My little man after eating avocado for lunch.
Favorite Drink: He only gets formula and water and drinks from both a bottle and a sippy cup.
Favorite toys: LeapFrog table, red car, anything and everything he's not suppose to have
Favorite books: Book time with the twins is hard. I have them both in my lap and they fight over the book! Who gets to turn the page? Who gets to push the buttons? I want your pacifier instead of mine so I'll rip it out of your mouth! Yep... that's pretty much what reading time looks like for the twins right now :) But with all that said, he seems to be drawn to the "10 Little Lady Bugs" book in their toy bin.
Favorite stuffed animal: I think he's going to be a blanket kid... he loves his blue/white striped monkey blanket. We let him have one little corner of it through the slits on his crib so he can snuggle it and rub it on his cheek while he falls to sleep.
We love to share pacifiers in our house :) Cam doesn't care what color the paci is as long as he has a pacifier and his blanket, he's ready to sleep!
Favorite Person: Daddy... these two have quite the bond!
Bedtime: Some time between 6:30 and 7:00.
Wake-up time: He's usually up between 6:00 and 7:00. Sometimes he'll get up at 5:00 to eat and then go back to sleep for a few hours. He typically sleeps through the night unless his sister wakes him up :(
His favorite new place to play! Funny thing is he can't get down on his own yet. He'll just cry until we come get him :)
Naps: He still takes 2 naps a day... and needs them or else he is a bear! He goes down for his morning nap around 9:00 and sleeps for approximately 1 1/2 hours. Then takes his afternoon nap at 1:00 and sleeps anywhere from 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 hours.
What he's saying: Cambell said his one and only word at 8 months - "mama"! He's my only child to say "mama" first :) And he said it when he was reaching for me so it just melted my heart!
Latest Accomplishment: Oh my goodness, there's so much at this age! Drinking from a sippy cup (6-7 months), eating real people food (7-8 months), pulling himself to a standing position (9 months), getting to a sitting position on his own, waving, climbing stairs, shaking his head "no".
His absolute favorite... driving his car!
Likes: baths, chewing/sucking on things, walks in the stroller, swinging outside, scale in our bathroom, eating, crawling around to find food that has dropped on the floor, getting into anything and everything he shouldn't (wires under desk, pantry, mom and dad's bathroom, bottom shelf in entryway)
Our little scavenger. It's almost like we have a dog in the house!
Dislikes: losing his pacifier during bedtime, sitting still long enough to get his diaper changed, having to wait while we give Lynlee food (he wants it NOW!)
What gets said about Cambell most often: That he looks just like Josh! And that they can't believe how fast he can army crawl! His speed is quite impressive!
Best known for: His unique army crawl and his sweet, sweet smile! And shaking his head "no" whenever mommy sings or someone asks him a question!!!
Health: He is a healthy boy! He has a little eczema on his bottom and gets a hive-like reaction when he cries too much, but those are both really minor. He also gave us his first scare by falling down 3 steps in the garage. Big sisters learned a huge lesson in shutting the doors tightly that day :(
Interesting Tidbits: Still no teeth! And we are pretty sure he is going to be left-handed! Oh and he has the world's softest, smooshiest cheeks I have ever felt. I LOVE to kiss them :) Poor kid!
Twin Stuff:
This picture is the epitome of 9 months old... pulling up on everything they can get their hands on! Love these two and their sweet, sweet smiles!
Lynlee and Cambell right before their baby dedication at church.
Lynlee and Cambell definitely learn from each other and copy behaviors they see. They both started waving within a day of each other. They both pulled up to a standing position within a week of each other. Cambell started army crawling at 5 months (all of our other girls did a regular crawl) and Lynlee now army crawls as well! Neither one has any interest in regular crawling... it's like they don't even realize it's an option because they just do what the other one is doing!
Cambell did NOT like being outdoors when the weather got nice this spring. We would take them on a walk or swing in the back yard and he would have a serious frown on his face the whole time, all while Lynnie was loving it! I think he's probably given in by now and realized that our family is an outdoors family and he's really starting to like it. This picture was one morning when I opened the door to get some fresh air in the house and they both crawled over as fast as they could to peak their heads into the opening :)
Driving their cars!
Playing with the LeapFrog table. They love this table but they don't share very well. The other day I found Lynlee pulling Cambell down by hanging on to his waist until he tipped over. Tonight Cambell rolled on top of her and laughed (while she was crying) because she couldn't move. They really do love each other, but they seem to bug each other more than they get along at this point. This past week I saw one of the first acts of affection between the two of them.... I was flipping through the TV channels and happened upon Barney. They don't watch TV so they were fascinated. They both sat very still and stared at the TV and Lynlee laid her head on Cambell's shoulder. It was adorable :)
Bottle time after their afternoon nap.
Our Mom thinks we're trouble!!! What do you think?! Team effort pulling all of the laundry out of the basket.
Why is it that kids always like to play with the weirdest things? These two are fascinated by the bulb syringe we used this past winter to suck boogers out of their noses. Gross, right?! I found them this one morning taking turns sharing the bulb syringe.
