Maryn And Her Bike!

This past weekend Maryn learned to ride her bike without the training wheels! The ease and speed in which she did it shocked us all. Knowing that she's athletic and extremely coordinated for her age, I figured she'd be a fast learner, but we were not prepared for how fast this process went. She was riding by herself up and down the block within 10 minutes of Josh starting to teach her. She was amazing... and so proud of herself!!! Pretty soon the sidewalk in front of our house got boring and she asked to ride on the trail behind our house! Josh took her back there and she rode for two miles all by herself on the trail (all with Josh sprinting to keep up with her!). She already understands how to stop (which usually takes a little while to learn after you get the balance thing down) but her fearlessness is going to get her in trouble. I can't tell you how many times this weekend Josh had to yell "Slow down Maryn!" She has absolutely no fear! I love seeing my kids learn new things and see the pride in their eyes! So fun! We're proud of you MarBear! You were a patient student and had excellent listening skills :)

Riding towards me on the trail! Josh (who is a very good, fast runner) said that he had to run a consistent 7:00 min/mile pace to keep up with her! Glad I didn't take her on the trail... she would've been on her own ;)

Here she is riding and smiling! I LOVE the happiness on her face!!!

Like I said, it was easy for her. Just riding along and looking at mommy taking pictures :)

Moving on down the trail with Daddy following her.

Bloomsbury Farm

Josh invited some of his TrueNorth clients out to a family event at Bloomsbury Farm this fall. Our family has never been to Bloomsbury... my best explanation of the place is that it's like a pumpkin patch on steroids. I've never seen anything like it! The girls had so much fun! We had dinner with TrueNorth and some of the clients and enjoyed the corn maze, little piggy races, the jumping pillow, train, play equipment, spider web, corn crib, petting zoo, race cars, corn blaster and many other fun activities! We were there for over three hours and our girls still didn't do everything they wanted! I love that our girls enjoy life to the fullest and are so ready for the next adventure!

One of our favorites... the corn crib!!! Even Josh and I dove in for a little fun. We had corn everywhere... in our socks, down our pants, you name it! I was still finding corn up to a week later, but it was worth it!

Maryn's 5th Birthday

Maryn had a terrific 5th birthday. She had her party and all of the details planned out months in advance. She wanted a friend party at Chuck E Cheese with puppy cupcakes and puppy invitations! We typically have a special dinner on their birthday as well that we invite the grandparents to but she decided that she wanted the grandparents at Chuck E Cheese with her and her friends.... they would have more fun that way :) The party was a lot of fun and the kids were really good. Josh and I were exhausted by the end of it, but Maryn was glowing. That's what being a kid is all about!

Maryn posing in the Ticket Blaster! She talked about this months ahead of time... she couldn't wait!

Let the chaos begin! All those tickets flying everywhere!! She was loving it!

Extreme fun in the Ticket Blaster! I don't think I've laughed that hard in months. She was jumping up and down and trying so hard! So fun!

Bed Head

Maya has very little hair. She finally has a few curls in the back, but it still doesn't amount to much. The up side is that with so little hair I don't really have to worry about what it looks like or crazy hair days. You would imagine our surprise when she woke up looking like this one day....
