My Morning With Maryn

One morning this past week Makenna was at a friend's house and Maya took an extremely long morning nap so Maryn and I had some quality one-on-one time. I really cherish this time with my kids as it gets more difficult to find the time the more kids I have! We basically just hung out on the swingset in the back yard but we had a blast.

I LOVE this picture of Maryn! Maybe one of my all-time favorites...

And I just had to follow it up with this one - she's letting a little personality shine through :)

As always, puppy was on the scene!

We're not sure how, but Maryn learned to swing in a big kid swing over the winter. She just jumped on this spring and went to town with no help from me or Josh.

Another new talent....

I love the little wispy curls in the back.

Looking like she's up to something!

So proud of herself! I could just squeeze this little girl! She's so special to me!

Wrong Season

I think Makenna and Maryn were a little confused about what season it was outside...

Random Cuteness

Here are just some random cute pictures from the Budke house in the last few weeks or so....

"Daddy always puts his silly hats on my head!"

"Can't he tell his hat is too big for me!"

Maya takes the best naps in her car seat :)

Makenna's Last Day of Preschool

Makenna had a great last day of preschool. The moms planned a fun-filled morning of activities based around a camping theme. Maryn got to have some fun as well since her friends are the siblings of some of the other preschoolers so they got to come over and play while their moms were helping out! The entire day went well until I was giving her teachers hugs good-bye and Makenna all of a sudden realized the finality of it. She just started sobbing. She repeated over and over "But I love my school. I'll miss my friends. I love my friends. I want this to be my school." Poor thing. She cried for over 20 minutes straight. Luckily once she got it out of her system she's been fine and now she's looking forward to kindergarten once again.

The little girls and I arrived a few minutes early at the end of the morning and they joined in on some of the stories and singing. Maryn looks like she's having almost as much fun as Makenna.

Preschool Graduation

Monday night was Makenna's Preschool Graduation and Spring Program. As always, it was adorable :) She did really well and loved hanging out with her friends afterwards. I'm still in shock that my baby is done with preschool. Where does the time go? She is really going to miss the friends she's made at preschool. Luckily she is extremely excited to go to kindergarten. If she were upset then I don't know what I'd do. I'm already feeling like I'm going to break down in a ball of tears and it's still 3 months away!

Makenna with her two preschool teachers, Mrs. Sodman and Mrs. Stinson. This is right after she received her diploma :)

3 Months Old

These pictures were taken last week, but I just wanted to note how strong Maya is getting. She can hold her head up steadily for considerable amounts of time and is starting to push most of her upper body up when on her tummy. When sitting on your lap she likes to push herself up to a standing position. She is very strong and is working hard on trying to roll from her back to her tummy. She can get to her side but can't make it the rest of the way. Maya continues to be our wonderful sleeper and sleeps from 8:30/9:00 to 6:00/7:00 every night (at least for the last month or so). We are extremely lucky and we know it! She seems to be going through a growth spurt and has decided she wants to eat every 2 hours the last few days rather than every 3 - 4 hours as she had been doing. She continues to be our smiley, easy baby :)

I can't get enough of her big blue eyes!!!

Potty Training Update

I just had to share our exciting news!!! Maryn only had one accident on Monday and NO accidents yesterday! Whoo-Hoo! I know that nobody gets as excited about potty training as me, but just remember that all I've been doing for the past two weeks (at least it feels this way some days) is trying to potty train Maryn! She was doing so well but it just seemed like something wasn't totally clicking for her. And finally Monday she started telling me when she had to go (although not every time)! I'm so incredibly proud of her! She has even been wearing underwear to bed for naptime and has woken up dry a majority of the time (including the past two days). Another big challenge for Maryn is when we go somewhere. She seems to forget amidst the excitement and distraction and typically has an accident. Well yesterday we went grocery shopping and she played outside and stayed dry for both! Yeah! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we're down to buying diapers for just one child now!
