Nicknames: Kenna, Nenny, Nenna (what Maya calls her), Nenner, Nenner Benner, Nen, Buddy, Peanut
Weight & Height: She weighs right around 55 lbs and continues to be off the charts for height.
Hair: Medium length blond hair. She just got a few inches chopped off and it's layered really cute. You can't even tell she's growing her bangs out anymore!
Favorite foods: I just asked her - sweet corn, hamburgers, and brats for dinner and cake and ice cream for dessert!
Favorite Drink: Water, lemonade and fruit punch (the last two are only because that's what we had at her birthday party this weekend :)
Favorite toys: New scooter and any imagination game that can be played with dolls and Maryn
Favorite stuffed animal: Duckie
Favorite Books: Books are a HUGE deal at our house currently. She ended the school year reading at Level L (which I believe is 2nd grade level). She is loving the fact that she can read chapter books all by herself! We have a very long reading routine now... she reads to me, I read to her and then she reads by herself! She has logged in many hours reading this summer! Her favorite books are The Boxcar Children series and The Rainbow Fairies series.
Bedtime: We start getting ready for bed between 7:45 and 8:00. She is allowed to read in bed until 8:30 ish.
Wake-up time: She will wake up anywhere from 8:00 - 9:00 during the summer.
We don't have very many Makenna/Mommy pictures... I wish she was smiling, but I love it anyway!
Latest Accomplishment: She started riding a bike without training wheels this past spring! That was a very big deal at our house! She also continues to grow leaps and bounds in her reading and writing. If I give her a writing "assignment" for the day, she can write pages for me, complete with sentences and punctuation!
Likes: playing outside with friends, sleeping in, anything girly (make-up, doing hair/nails, etc), any water activity
Dislikes: thunderstorms... she panics at even the mention of a storm and tries to send everyone to the basement at the slight mention of a storm (anywhere in Iowa!). She will stay glued to the TV screen until the weather situation is over or until we pull her away ;) The funny part is that she's not scared of the thunder, lightning or rain and she will typically sleep through all of this and stay in her bed. She has much more realistic fears, such as tornadoes.
Fears: She is still overly sensitive to "scary" things on the commercials on TV. We have to be very careful when she is around and the TV is on.
Favorite shows: She has watched very little TV this summer... I asked her and all she could say was "Martha Speaks" from PBS. But honestly I don't even think she cares for it that much. She'd much rather be outside playing.
Health: We've had a very rough summer. She had head lice, hand foot and mouth and she got stitches in her forehead all so far this summer!
Interesting Tidbit: Makenna has lost her bottom two teeth so far. No signs of any other loose teeth though.
